Spaghetti Bolognaise


 

Bolognaise- Grating vegetables is a great way to incorporate more Vegetables!!

200g lean beef mince

1 t olive oil

2 medium onions, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic finely chopped

2 x 420g tin chopped tomato

2 T tomato paste

4 sticks celery, finely chopped

2 medium carrots, finely chopped

1 t dried oregano

1 t dried basil

½ t pepper

200g wholemeal pasta

  1. Heat oil in large pan
  2. Fry onions and garlic until soft
  3. Add mince and fry until brown
  4. Drain all but 1 T fat into a heatproof bowl
  5. Add carrot and celery and fry for a further 5 mins
  6. Add remaining ingredients (except pasta) and simmer for 25mins
  7. Whilst  simmering, bring water to boil and cook pasta
  8. Drain pasta and serve with 100g grated low fat matured cheese
